I hope everyone had a good Valentine's Day. KC Cake Pops was able to help our awesome customers express their love. We had a lot of fun personalizing hearts with all sorts of expressions of love.

We were glad to help and glad to be busy for this fun Holiday. Thank you to eveyone for your interest and support. We can really feel the good vibes coming our way.

We have lots of fun things in the works that we are super excited about! So keep those fingers crossed for us!

New Year, New Adventures

The Holidays are over and it's time to get back to "normal". We have been doing a lot of planning for this year and are pretty sure it's going to be a great year. A lot going on, but it's all good. Stay tuned for updates.

We are getting ready to Valentine's Day and had a lot of fun making these cake pops.

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Christmas has always been my favorite Holiday. This year has been very different from any other. It started before Thanksgiving when we were notified about a corporate order for 1200 cake pops, that's 100 dozen! We spent our Thanksgiving break from our full time jobs by getting ready for this huge undertaking. We baked and baked, had a fiesta and baked some more. With the help from some amazing friends and family we were able to get things organized and ready to go. When the delivery date arrived we had completed our goal and got a bit of a surprise. They wanted more, 20 dozen more! What's 240 more after 1200? We hope everyone who received our pops as a gift this year enjoyed them. We made lots of fun memories making them. One this we never have trouble with is laughing and having a good time in any situation.

I am enjoying some days off the week of Christmas and have been finding myself being a Christmas elf. We have delivered to hospitals, office buildings, schools and homes. It's so nice to see how people react when receiving a gift, it doesn't matter what it is, just knowing someone cares enough to take the time to make you feel special. Love it, Love Christmas, Love Cake Pops and the opportunities they are bringing.

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!!! We can't wait to see what this year will bring. Thank you to everyone who has supported us from near and far. We are so grateful!

I love how two people can look at something and see something completely different.

We had a customer throw a shower for a family member getting married in Hawaii. She thought pineapple cake pops would be perfect and we agree. She put them in a bowl full of fruit, climbing up a pineapple. Love it!

Another favorite thing is the caterpillar themed birthday party. So creative!!

We wanted to let eveyone know about a silent auction going on in Peculiar on

Saturday, October 16th at the First Baptist Church.

It will start at 5pm and winning bids will be announced by 7pm.

We stopped by there to drop off a gift certificate and got a sneak peek at auction items.

There are a lot of great things available for bidding!

So we left with our bidder number and hopefully a chance on some great items.

All proceeds go to the building fund, which will be a great benefit to the community.

It is also the Log Cabin Quilters Club 9th Annual Quilt Show.

We will have a booth at the 50th Annual Overland Park Fall Festival on Saturday, September 25th. The festival is open from 9-5 and admission is free. There will be a parade, crafts vendors, music, tons of fun things for kids and so much more.

This event takes place at the Sante Fe Commons on Santa Fe Drive.

Well not the man himself but producers from the Dr. OZ show will be in town tomorrow, August 13th at 1:00 pm.

There will be an air conditioned tent set up in front of the Peculiar Pharmacy. They are asking for residents who have any peculiar medical questions they would like to have answered to come on down and ask. You could end up on the show.

I think everyone should plan on stopping by and while you are there why not stop in for a cake pop? :) We restocked this morning with chocolate pops. Yum!

It's birthday time! Not just for me, but for 16 other friends/family. It's the craziest month full of celebrating and I love it. Luckily for me, I have friends who like to have joint b-day parties and they are so much fun. Of course, I was put in charge of dessert and the cake pops are ready to go. Everyone gets to have their favorite flavor and we don't have to worry about making or cleaning up a mess.

I had a great weekend! I got to spend time with my dad's side of the family. It's the first time in 10 years all 6 siblings have been together....almost to the day. I made some red velvet and cherry chip cake pops for everyone to try. They were a big hit. I took some pics and I think this is the best looking batch yet.

I have been a busy lady. I took a cupcake class with some friends and learned a lot and had a ton of fun too. I made cake pops for the local Relay For Life and learned I should send them with a cooler. Heat and cake pops don't mix. Oh well, it's a lesson learned. I finally have pictures to share. I made these for a Father's Day dinner with family and friends.

I am the proud new owner of a brownie pop pan. It works really well and the brownie pops remind me of tulips. I want to make some into a bouquet. I took what I made to two different Memorial Day parties and they went over very well. Last night I tried making pie pops for the second time. This time was much better and I brought then into work to get opinions and everyone seeemed to really like them. The first time I used peach pie filling and last night I made them with strawberry pie filling. I have to get the perfect thickness of pie crust and they will be ready to go on the menu. They stayed in the sticks really nicely and next time I will try some different shapes. The next pop to conquer is the the cheesecake pop. I am pretty excited about that one! Never a dull weekend around here, lots of baking going on.

Lots of Progress

Things have been going very well. I now know what happens when you give five kids decorating bags filled with icing and complete creative control. The website has been registered, the facebook page started and tonight is a big night for this venture. My uncle who specializes in helping out small business owners is coming over for dinner and I will be picking his brain. Hopefully by this time tomorrow I will have all my ducks in a row with the state of Missouri and the Federal Government. Renea and I have also been practicing and think we have a good handle on great looking, great tasting cake pops. We have donated all of our finished products to a woman we work with who is raising money for Relay For Life. She is selling them for a dollar a pop and doing quite well.

Operation Decoration

The first official decorating experiment was held on Saturday, May 15th. I made cake pops and had them ready for dipping and my awesome friends were there to help out, offer suggestions and taste test the final result. Renea did the same thing at her house. Here is what I learned that night. I do not get along with double broilers and am now the proud owner of two chocolate melting crockpots. I still don't like humidity. Cake pops make everyone happy. I have pictures I will post if I can figure out how. :)

Here goes.....Welcome to the adventures of jumping in and starting something totally new. Even if this isn't what I was meant to do, I know there are a lot of lessons to learn. So my goal for right now is be stay open to the possibilites and think positively!
